HIRING ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE POSITION OF

COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST

The Gilford Police Department (GPD) has an immediate full-time Communications Specialist vacancy. Communications Specialists are professionals who gather essential information from callers in order to dispatch appropriate first responders to various incidents in both emergency and non-emergency situations. Individuals who are adept at multitasking, dedicated, levelheaded, highly organized, and trustworthy are encouraged to apply.

The current opening is an 11pm-7am position with rotating days off. Flexibility to work other hours in order to fill shift vacancies, as well as a desire to work overtime (as needed) is required.

Minimum qualifications: a High School diploma (or equivalent); knowledge of & experience with computers/various computer programs; typing skills; and the abilities to: communicate well with the public, maintain self-control during emergency situations, speak clearly and coherently utilizing radio consoles, follow a para-military work environment, maintain required job certifications, and multitask.

The Town of Gilford offers an excellent benefits package with a competitive salary range of $15.41 - $22.90/hour (pay commensurate with experience). Additional work details and overtime-earning opportunities are available. Applicants are required to pass the following: computer test; oral board interview; polygraph exam; and an extensive background investigation.
